Arabic for Beginners: Foundations of Arabic
This course is tailored for absolute beginners with little to no prior experience in Arabic. Whether you're aiming to learn the language for travel, business, religious studies, or personal interest, this foundational course sets the stage for your Arabic language journey. All the fundamentals will be covered to allow the student to advance to the next stage towards mastering the Arabic language.

This course will enable one to recite the Quran proficiently. The rules in Introductory Arabic will be elaborated on and one will obtain practical experience in reading the Quran. Al-Qaidia Al-Nooraniyah is a well-known program that is used throughout the world due to its proven effectiveness and comprehensive methodology. The ease in which the Tajweed rules are taught makes this the ideal method for anybody wanting to learn Quran recitation.

Morphology (صرف ) is the study of the structure of words, enabling you identify root letters and patterns. By the end of the course one will develop an in-depth understanding of verb and noun structures and how to derive words from a 3 letter root. Many examples will be used from the Quran to allow one to taste some of its linguistic beauty.

The Science of Arabic grammar (النَحْو ) is the study of how to join words to form correct and meaningful sentences. The way this is reflected is through the ending of words which is what makes Arabic such a rich and vast language. The focus of this course is grammatical theory through which one will appreciate the depth of the Arabic language through the works of classical grammarians for over a millennium.

We will delve into the structures of a Nominal and Verbal sentences and will demonstrate how changing word positions and/or structures will affect the meaning. We will look at bringing forth and delaying different aspects of a sentence including the subject, predicate, doer,object prepositional phrase, adverb and we will give numerous examples in and outside the Quran.

We will delve into the linguistic aspects related to the verbal noun ( Masdar). We will discuss the patterns of verbal nouns and extra meanings associated with them. We will examine the Masdar Meemee and compare it with the normal Masdar. There will be many examples from the Quran and other linguistic discussions. We will see other usages of the Masdar such as the absolute object.

The Night Journey and Ascension occurred in one night and each part of the journey is mentioned separately in the Quran. The Night journey is mentioned in the beginning of سورة الإسراء (Surah 17) while the ascension is mentioned in the beginning of سورة النجم (Surah 53). Many of the details can be found in books of Seerah or Hadith.
