The Night Journey and Ascension occurred in one night and each part of the journey is mentioned separately in the Quran. The Night journey is mentioned in the beginning of سورة الإسراء (Surah 17) while the ascension is mentioned in the beginning of سورة النجم (Surah 53). Many of the details can be found in books of Seerah or Hadith.

We will be explaining the linguistic nuances as well as a word by word analysis of each verse together with an in depth grammatical analysis. 


The subjects covered in the course will be related predominately to Rhetoric. A basic understanding of Arabic will be highly recommended. 

This Course consists of 13 lessons which will consist of a deep grammatical and linguistic analysis of the ayaat related to the miraculous night journey.The course material has been researched thoroughly in the classical books of balagha and tafseer.

Students can enrol in this course and have access to the course material and be able to download it for future reference. The student will also have access to online teachers as well as extra lessons when they become available. 

COURSE LESSONS 

Lesson 1 - Introduction, The structural precision of the Quran, In-depth Grammatical and linguistic analysis of 17:1 ( glorification and usage in the Quran, other linguistic subtleties related to the verse structure). [30:23 minutes]

Lesson 2 - An in-depth grammatical and linguistic analysis of 17:1 continued ( The difference between transitiveness with a Hamza and the preposition baa, the possessive case used for honouring, the baa used for close proximity ( Al Musaahaba), the usage of definiteness and indefiniteness). [15:14 minutes]

Lesson 3 - An in-depth Grammatical and linguistic analysis of 17:1 continued ( derivation of words, shift and person and number and its usage in the Quran, structural analysis and precision in word choice and structure). [13:40 minutes]

Lesson 4 - In-depth Grammatical and linguistic analysis of 17:1 continued ( 4 proofs that the journey was physical and not a dream, usage of emphasis, most appropriate verse ending and other verses with similar endings). [25:47 minutes]

Lesson 5 - In-depth Grammatical and linguistic analysis of 52:48 ( Relationship between Surat At-Toor and Surat An-Najm, One particle that gives 3 intended meanings, The usage of the singular and plural pronouns for Allah (swt) and how they are used in the Quran). [29:37 minutes]

Lesson 6 - In-depth Grammatical and linguistic analysis of 52:48-49 ( How the tafseers support both the language of the Quran and context of the verse, precision in word usage and subject matter, derivation of words). [21:32 minutes]

Lesson 7-12 - In-depth Grammatical and linguistic analysis of Surat An-Najm 53:1-18 (All aspects of Balagha (Rhetoric ) will be mentioned and how each word and grammatical structure is used in the most precise way. many considerations related to grammar and rhetoric will be discussed which include: usage of negation in the Quran, usages of verb tenses, the usage of propositions and conjunctions, precise word choice, how the unseen is described, usage of oaths in the verse, why every verse is an honouring for the Prophet (saw).) [2 hours 18 minutes]

Lesson 13 - Lesson 13: Stages of the Quranic revelation described in the Quran. The word Abd (slave) used in Surat Saaffat. [21:41 minutes]
